Truist, A Presenting Partner of Wake Forest Women's Athletics, has announced a total contribution of $30,000 to WakeForest Athletics in support of the Her Victory campaign from the 2024-25 academic year.
In the fall of 2024, Truist launched Her Victory, a platform designed to amplify the success across all Wake Forest women's sports programs during the 2024-25 regular season. In support of these Demon Deacon female student-athletes, Truist tracked individual student-athlete performances across all women's sports sponsored at Wake Forest. As each sport's season progressed, Truist pledged contributions based on those achievements.
This donation directly supports the In Her Wake Initiative, a campaign launched by Wake Forest Athletics earmarked to support women's athletics. Since its launch in February 2024, Demon Deacon donors including Truist have contributed over $37 million in support of Wake Forest female student-athletes through the In Her Wake initiative."
"We are grateful to Truist for their continued investment in Wake Forest Women's Athletics and Her Victory," said Vice President & Director of Athletics John Currie. "Their $30,000 contribution is not just a testament to the exceptional performances of our female student- athletes—it's a meaningful step forward in our commitment to continuing to provide a World Class Student-Athlete Experience for women in college athletics. Truist's leadership reinforces national momentum around Wake Forest's In Her Wake initiative.
Truist will continue the Her Victory campaign in partnership with Wake Forest Athletics for the 2025-26 athletic season, with competition beginning in August.
"Sports are a great warm-up for life. Not only do athletes gain leadership experience, they learn the value of hard work, discipline, and what it's like to be on a team, aligned under a common purpose," said Sherry Graziano, head of digital, client experience and marketing for Truist. "We're proud to support a wide variety of causes including Wake Forest Women's Athletics program, and these young athletes who are sure to be successful in life and make a difference in the communities where they live and work."

About In Her Wake
This fundraising effort provides centralized marketing messages that highlights the ongoing philanthropic efforts creating a World Class Student-Athlete experience at Wake Forest, such as telling stories of trailblazers who came before them and the indelible mark those individuals would like to leave behind them. With that, current student-athletes will learn and share how they reached current levels of success and whose wake they followed behind to reach that feat. Past student-athletes will look back at the wake that has followed them as they share how their experience as a Demon Deacon had an impact on their career trajectory.
Also, the In Her Wake initiative will further enhance scholarship support; create new opportunities in personal, leadership and career development; and provide strategic investments in areas that create a competitive advantage for individual sport programs.
