Deacs Climb Leaderboard in Round Two at Ruth’s Chris

Freshman Brent-Petersen remains in the race for the individual lead, two strokes off the leader.
CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - Despite heavy rain postponing the morning start, No. 1 Wake Forest moved up into third place at five-over after 36 holes at the Ruth's Chris Tar Heel Invitational at Finley G.C. in Chapel Hill, N.C.
As a team, the Demon Deacons have totaled 27 birdies, good for third in the competition. Freshman Benedicte Brent-Petersen owns nine of the 27 birdies, helping her hold a top spot on the individual board. Currently in third place, she sits one stroke off of second place and one behind the individual leader.
Junior Chloe Kovelesky carded the best round for the Deacs today at one-under, highlighted by an eagle on hole 12. She jumped 35 total spots, slotting into the top-25 headed into the final round.
Fellow junior Sarah Lydic remained inside the top-25, alongside senior Macy Pate who moved up five places from the previous day into T19. Freshman Havanna Torstensson saw improvement from day one, climbing to T32 with her better round of two today.

Wake Forest will make the final charge for the lead beginning tomorrow at 9:40 a.m. ET, paired with Duke and NC State.
