Doran is the award’s second recipient.
ORLANDO, Fla. - In partnership with the ANNIKA Foundation, Wake Forest alum Emilia Migliaccio Doran is this year's recipient of the ANNIKA Inspiration award, as announced by the foundation this past Tuesday.
Doran was a member of Wake Forest women's golf team from 2017-2021, and returned in 2023 as a grad student. She accumulated multiple collegiate victories throughout her career, including capturing the 2019 ACC Individual Championship. During her final year with the Deacs, she helped lead the team to the 2023 NCAA National Championship.
Beyond the NCAA, Doran represented the United States in many competitions, including the 2019 Pan American Games, as well as multiple Curtis Cup and Arnold Palmer Cups. The two-time Pan American gold medalist was also runner-up at the prestigious 2021 Augusta National Women's Amateur.
Since graduation, the All-American has maintained participation in multiple amateur events, while pursuing a career in journalism with Golf Channel, NBC Sports, SiriusXM, and PGA TOUR LIVE.
Outside of her on course and in the booth career, the four-time All American leads multiple programs for the mentorship of young girls in golf. She helped develop and spearheaded the "Fore Her Success" program, aimed to connect high-level junior golfers with experienced mentors. Doran is also an active member of the Girls Golf of America, a non-profit organization based in Greensboro, creating equitable pathways and opportunities for young girls to learn the game of golf.
Per the ANNIKA Foundation, Doran is using charitable proceeds from the Award to support multiple organizations including: First Tee-Greater Charlotte, Peggy Kirk Bell Girls Golf Tour and Autumn's Eagles Charity Golf Tournament which raises funds to support children in foster care and adoption.
A former AJGA Junior, she is also using award funds to provide stipends for players competing in the Junior All-Stars Championship, in hopes of making a more accessible opportunity for young golfers.
