Fitzpatrick won his first victory in just his 11th TOUR start.
AVONDALE, La. – Following a tournament-record 257 (-31), Wake Forest men's golf alum Alex Fitzpatrick earned a dramatic one-shot victory at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans, capturing the team title alongside his brother Matt Fitzpatrick.
With the victory, Fitzpatrick earns his PGA TOUR card through 2028, along with exemptions into:
- 2026 PGA Championship
- 2026 Cadillac Championship
- 2026 Truist Championship
- 2026 Memorial Tournament
- 2026 Travelers Championship
- 2027 THE PLAYERS Championship
Fitzpatrick made history Sunday at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans, becoming the first non-member and sponsor exemption to win on the PGA TOUR since Michael Brennan at the 2025 Bank of Utah Championship.
Entering the week ranked No. 141 in the Official World Golf Ranking, Fitzpatrick had already secured his first DP World Tour victory earlier this season at the Hero Indian Open. Competing on a sponsor exemption this week, he now leaves New Orleans with full PGA TOUR status through 2028.
