Suresh and Delgado Named ACC Doubles Team of the Week

The duo remains perfect together this campaign heading into the final week of the regular season.
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Following a perfect 2-0 weekend as a pair in California, Wake Forest men's tennis senior DK Suresh Ekambaram and redshirt freshman Andrew Delgado have been named the ACC Doubles Team of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday.
The duo continued its dominant run at the top of the lineup, earning victories in both matches on court one to remain unbeaten together this season.
In Wake Forest's 4-2 road win at Cal, Delgado and Suresh secured a 6-3 victory over Aney/Stepanov to help clinch the doubles point. Prior to that, the pair had another impressive performance in a tightly contested 4-3 loss at Stanford, taking down the No. 21-ranked duo of Chang/Razeghi, 7-5.
Now 8-0 together this spring, Delgado and Suresh have quickly developed into one of the top tandems in the country, rising to No. 2 in the latest national rankings.
Suresh continues to climb the program record books, now tied for fourth in Wake Forest history with 94 career doubles wins, matching Steven Foreman (2007-10). Delgado has also been stellar in his debut campaign, improving to 15-0 in doubles play this spring while holding a perfect 6-0 record in singles.

Wake Forest now has eight ACC honors this campaign, the most in the conference, including the most Freshman of the Week awards with five.

The Demon Deacons will now return home for Suresh's senior day against NC State in the regular season finale on Saturday, April 11.
