WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Wake Forest Athletics has unveiled a new golf-themed Demon Deacon logo, expanding the University's licensed retail offerings with a sport-specific design that celebrates Wake Forest's storied golf tradition while providing fans with a fresh way to showcase their Deacon pride.
The mark complements Wake Forest's existing brand system while adding creativity and personality to licensed merchandise.
The Swinging Deacon will appear exclusively on apparel, headwear and golf-specific merchandise with initial products produced by Nike, Peter Millar, Branded Bills, Team Golf and others. With that, fans who want to purchase the Swinging Deacon collection should visit WakeForestShop.com.
Wake Forest golf stands among the most storied programs in collegiate athletics, defined by four NCAA Championships, 27 ACC titles, numerous All-Americans, legendary leadership and iconic alumni who helped shape the game itself.
Under the guidance of Hall of Fame and championship head coaches including individuals like Jesse Haddock, Dianne Dailey, Jerry Haas and Kim Lewellen, the Demon Deacons have built a tradition rooted in excellence, integrity, and sustained national success. That legacy includes three NCAA team championships on the men's side and a national title for the women's program, along with generations of All-Americans and award winners.
Wake Forest's golf lineage is unmatched, highlighted by Arnold Palmer, whose impact transcended the sport, as well as Curtis Strange, Jay Haas, Lanny Wadkins, Gary Hallberg, Scott Hoch, Bill Haas, Webb Simpson, Will Zalatoris and Cameron Young on the men's side, and Cheyenne Woods, Jennifer Kupcho, Rachel Kuehn, Lauren Walsh and Emilia Migliaccio among many standout women. From college golf's earliest national moments to today's PGA TOUR and LPGA leaders, Wake Forest golf continues to represent one of the game's most enduring and influential traditions.
The Swinging Deacon was designed in collaboration with University Marketing and Communications, ensuring alignment with Wake Forest's broader brand strategy while creating artwork tailored specifically for brand enhancement and awareness.
The Swinging Deacon golf caricature represents the first phase of a broader sport-specific artwork initiative focused on licensed retail, with any future designs evaluated individually and guided by the same brand and licensing standards. Other sport marks are expected to be released throughout 2026 and 2027.
