This marks the first back-to-back regional victory since 1994-1995.
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - With a record setting final round, the No. 2 seed Wake Forest women's golf team secured its spot at the 2026 NCAA Women's Golf Championship with a team and individual title sweep at the NCAA Tallahassee Regional at Seminole Legacy Golf Club.
This marks the 11th straight NCAA Championship appearance for the Demon Deacons which included capturing the program's first national championship in 2023. Wake Forest totaled 46 birdies across the three days, with graduate student Morgan Ketchum carding a competition high 16 birdies.
Ketchum's 66 (-6) in the final round secured her co-champ title, with a 54-hole score of 209 (-7). The Winston-Salem, N.C.-native's 18-hole score today set a program record at regionals for the lowest third round score of a Deac, overtaking Jennifer Kupcho at 67 (-5) in 2018.
Additionally, with last year's team and individual title wins, this marked the first time in program history the Demon Deacons earned back-to-back title sweeps. A combined team effort headlined by Ketchum and sophomore Chloe Kovelesky surged the Deacs past No. 1-seed Florida and No. 4-seed Florida State.
Kovelesky added another top-3 finish to her career, finishing the tournament at 210 (-6) with 11 birdies.
As a team, the Demon Deacons 278 (-10) marked the lowest third round score at a regional in program history, surpassing 282 (-6) set in 2022. Additionally, at 856 (-8) the Deacs marked the lowest 54-hole team score since 2007.
Junior Macy Pate posted a stellar four-under-par during the third round and jumped 19 total spots from the previous day, with four birdies and a bogey-free day. Senior Anne-Sterre den Dunnen completed the tournament with an under par front nine, and even for the day.
West Coast Bound
With regional competition complete, the Deacs will now look towards the NCAA Championships. Competition begins May 22, at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, Calif.
Coach's Comments:
"We had a great day here in Tallahassee. We started off two over for the tournament, and finished eight under. It was an outstanding day at ten under. Morgan Ketchum, our NCAA Regional champion came in clutch today, and had an impressive day. Chloe Kovelesky and Macy Pate had some great showings today, and then Anne and Cartoon are always right there giving you some good scores. We look forward to next week at La Costa and hope everyone tunes in next week to watch us. Go Deacs!" - Tony and Vi Golding Head Coach Kim Lewellen
