The Oostkamp, Belgium, native comes to Winston-Salem following a 25-start debut season at FAU.
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest men's basketball has announced the addition of Belgian forward Xander Pintelon.
Pintelon comes to Winston-Salem following the 2025-26 season at FAU where he appeared in 33 games with 25 starts, recording 6.2 points and 3.7 rebounds per game while shooting 40 percent from the field and 35.2 percent from three. Additionally, Pintelon led FAU in free throw shooting at 85.4 percent.
"Xander brings tremendous length and skill to our power forward position," said head coach Steve Forbes. "I have been very impressed with his ability to shoot the three and pass the ball since he's been on campus. He can stretch the floor and drive the ball when the opportunity presents itself. Xander has a very high basketball IQ due his international and collegiate playing experience. We are very excited to have him in our program."
Pintelon recorded a double-digit scoring total 11 times for the Owls including a 14-point, seven-rebound performance against Boston College in his collegiate debut on Nov. 3.
In non-conference play, the 6-foot-11 forward reached the 10-point mark six times including a season-high 20 points against a UCF team that would earn an NCAA Tournament berth.
In that contest, Pintelon connected on 4-of-8 three-point attempts while also hauling in four rebounds and recording two blocks.
Prior to his time in Boca Raton, Pintelon was a member of the Belgian National Team where he averaged nine points per game while helping lead his country to the semifinals of the FIBA U20 European Championship for the first time in 2023.
Additionally, he played for BV Topsportschool U16 Antwerp between 2017-18, KBGO Finexa Basket@Sea Oostende during 2020-23, Filou Oostende during 2020-24, and then at Val-Dieu Spirou Basket Charleroi for one season.
