Wake Forest Adds Defender Ronnie Garcia

Garcia arrives in Winston-Salem after a standout freshman campaign at Campbell.
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest men's soccer head coach Bobby Muuss has announced the addition of defender Ronnie Garcia, a rising sophomore transfer from Campbell, to complete the Demon Deacons' 2026 signing class. Garcia joins Wake Forest after earning CAA All-Rookie Team honors during an impressive freshman campaign with the Camels.
"Ronnie is an athletic, versatile, left-footed defender who has already proven he can compete at the Division I level, playing over 1,000 minutes as a freshman," Muuss said. "He is a true competitor with an incredible work ethic and a desire to continue developing every day. We believe his mentality, experience, and commitment to winning make him a tremendous fit for the culture we've built at Wake Forest. We're excited to welcome Ronnie and his family to the Wake Forest Soccer family."
Garcia appeared in 17 matches as a freshman in 2025, earning nine starts after breaking into Campbell's lineup midway through the season. Playing primarily as a left wing-back, he scored his first collegiate goal in a 4-0 victory over William & Mary, totaled 10 shots with four on target and went the entire season without being booked. His performances earned him a spot on the CAA All-Rookie Team.
Prior to his collegiate career, Garcia developed with FC Dallas under head coach Casey Contor, helping the club capture the 2024 Dallas Cup title. A native of Dallas, Garcia starred at RL Turner High School in Carrollton, where he was named the district's 5A Defensive MVP after scoring 25 career goals from the back line.
Garcia rounds out Wake Forest's highly regarded 2026 signing class, joining Henry Rosenfeld, Nolan Tinsley, William Kuisel, Joby Reid, Marcos Miranda, Graham "Quinn" Syrett, Luke Kirilenko, Rooney Osei, Oliver Kurnik and Philip Biskupski. The class adds another talented piece to a Wake Forest program that has produced more than 50 professional players since 2015 while consistently competing among the nation's elite.
