Cameron Young and Alex Fitzpatrick Represent Wake Forest at the PGA TOUR Championship

The TOUR Championship features the top 30 golfers from the FedExCup standings in 2026
ATLANTA, GA- Two Wake Forest Men's Golf alumni Cameron Young ('19) and Alex Fitzpatrick ('22) have earned their place in the PGA TOUR Championship after finishing in the top 30 for the FedExCup rankings. Young currently sits in fourth and Fitzpatrick sits 24th.
Young is competing in his third TOUR Championship ('26, '25, '22). During the 2026 season, Young captured two PGA Tour wins. He earned his second career PGA TOUR win at THE PLAYERS Championship March 15. Young won by one stroke after he closed the final round with a four under 68. With that victory, Young rose to fourth place in the Official World Golf Ranking, marking his first time in the top 10.
Young's second win of the 2026 season came at the Cadillac Championship on May 3rd. He recorded a wire-wire victory after leading by one stroke after round one, five strokes after round two, and a six shot lead after round three that turned into a six stroke win to earn his third PGA TOUR win. This was Young's second PGA TOUR win by six strokes. His first came at the Wyndham Championship in 2025.
Fitzpatrick ('22) joins Young as the second Demon Deacon at the TOUR Championship. His only win this 2026 season came at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans. This was a two-man event, so Fitzpatrick partnered with his brother Matt and went on to win his first PGA TOUR title in his 11th career TOUR start. With his victory, he earned PGA TOUR membership for the first time and an exemption into the 2026 PGA Championship. Fitzpatrick became the first TOUR win by a non-member and sponsor exemption since another Wake Forest alum, Michael Brennan did it in 2022.
The PGA TOUR Championship will kick off Thursday, August 27 at the East Lake Golf Club and the winner will be crowned on Sunday, August 30.
