Wake Forest Lands No. 7 on Preseason Rankings, Three Deacs Tabbed Preseason All-Americans

The Deacs finished the previous year ranked No. 8 on Scoreboard.
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Ahead of the 2026-27 season, the Wake Forest women's golf team has earned the No. 7 spot on Golf Channel's preseason rankings as announced by the organization this Monday.
Additionally, senior Macy Pate, junior Chloe Kovelesky and freshman Benedicte Brent-Petersen have all earned spots on the Preseason All-American teams: Pate on Third Team, Kovelesky on Second Team, and Brent-Petersen on All-Freshmen Second Team.
Pate and Kovelesky were also named to the Preseason ANNIKA Award Watch List last Thursday.
The duo are two-time All-Americans, earning spots on both WGCA and Golfweek lists. Both were named to the All-ACC Team, and competed at the 2026 Arnold Palmer Cup for Team USA. As Pate enters her final year with the Deacs, she is the lone senior on the squad. As a junior, she led the team in scoring average and was the highest-ranked Deac at No. 21 on Scoreboard.
Kovelesky followed behind with the second-best average of the squad, wrapping her sophomore year No. 30 on Scoreboard.
Brent-Petersen arrives in Winston-Salem as the No. 92 ranked amateur in the world, the highest of Wake Forest's incoming freshman class. This past April, the Hellerup, Denmark-native took home the Esmond Trophy at the 2026 French International Lady Juniors' U21 Championship.
Wake Forest begins the 2026-27 season this September at the ANNIKA Intercollegiate, where Kovelesky took home co-medalist honors and the team secured their first title of 2025-26.
