Demon Deacons Head to Texas for Jackson T. Stephens Cup

Wake Forest has won five titles at the event: two team and three individual.
FRISCO, Texas - Looking to defend both the team and individual titles from 2025, no. 7 Wake Forest women's golf returns to the Jackson T. Stephens Cup starting Sept. 14, held at PGA Frisco Fields Ranch - East in Frisco, Texas.
The Demon Deacons have already received multiple preseason accolades, earning top-10 rankings across the board – No. 7 by Golf Channel, and No. 6 by Golfweek magazine. Individually, junior Chloe Kovlesky earned a spot on the Golf Channel's Preseason All-American Second Team, with senior Macy Pate named to the Third Team. Additionally, freshman Benedicte Brent-Petersen was named to the All-Freshman Second Team.
Wake Forest is one of three ACC teams participating in the tournament and is among a group of highly competitive squads, all ranked within the top 15 by Golf Channel.
Day one of the tournament will consist of rounds one and two of stroke play, and following a third round on the 15th, the individual winner will be crowned. Final team placement in stroke play will determine matchplay seeding for competition on the 16th.
Last Time Out
Behind three under-par individual performances, the No. 7 Wake Forest Demon Deacons took home the 2026 ANNIKA Intercollegiate team title for the second year in a row at Royal Golf Club in Lake Elmo, Minn.
This marks the 31st win under the direction of Tony and Vi Golding Head Coach Kim Lewellen and the Deacons' fourth victory at the ANNIKA, with the last coming in 2025. Additionally, at 24-under-par, the team 54-hole score marked the Deacs' lowest of their seven appearances at the tournament.
Freshman Havanna Torstensson put on one of the best debut performances from a freshman, carding a 54-hole score of 207 for a third place finish. The Halmstad, Sweden-native tied with teammate Chloe Kovelesky for the most birdies of the competition with 17 a piece.
Kovelesky secured a runner-up finish at eight under, tallying back-to-back rounds in the 60s during the first two days of competition, to put herself in good position for the final round. Senior Macy Pate rounded out the top-five, with consecutive rounds under par to finish two-under at 214. Across 54-holes, Pate carded the lowest number of bogeys among the Demon Deacons at six.
Wake Forest at the Stephens Cup
This marks Wake Forest's fifth consecutive appearance at the event. In 2025, the Demon Deacons won their second team title at the event, handing the No. 1 Stanford Cardinal their lone match play loss of the 2025-26 season to secure the victory. The Deacs have also had three individual titles at the Jackson T. Stephens Cup, the most recent of which was in 2025-26, where senior Macy Pate fired a career-low 54-hole score to secure her first career win.
