Deacs Earn Runner-Up at Highlands Invitational

Five Deacs finished in the top-15.
WESTCHESTER, Ill.. – Through all three rounds of play at the Highlands Invitational, the Wake Forest men's golf team finished in second place at the Chicago Highlands.
After a six-over first round and a seven-under second round, Wake came out in the third round with all Deacs finishing under-par, totalling 19-under for the final round. The Deacs fell by one-stroke after an eagle putt by ETSU at the final hole.
Junior Jorge Hao led the charge for Wake Forest all tournament, and finished in second-place after earning a seven-under in round three and 11-under for the entire tournament. Hao recorded 16 birdies over all three rounds.
In his Wake debut, freshman Sage Bradshaw continued to be a consistent performer for the Deacs. During round one, Bradshaw recorded a 71 (-1) with three birdies. In the second round, he recorded a 71 (-1) with five birdies. In the final round, he earned a three-under to finish tied for fifth place at five-under.
Senior Tom Haberer had a solid third round for the Deacs, recording a three-under for the round and total in the tournament. He finished in seventh place at three-under.
Senior Nicholas Prieto had his best round in the final 18-holes where he recorded a six under. He finished the tournament two-over and tied for 15th place.
Playing as an individual, sophomore Lorenzo Rodriguez recorded the best individual play for Wake Forest at one-under. Rodriguez recorded 10 birdies throughout the tournament and finished tied for 11th place.
