Women’s Basketball Set for Home Exhibition Versus UNCG on Sunday, Oct. 25

Fans will be able to get a first look at the 2026-27 Deacs ahead of Opening Night on Nov. 2.
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Just a week before its season opener, Wake Forest women's basketball will host UNCG in a home exhibition on Sunday, Oct. 25 inside LJVM Coliseum.
Tipoff is scheduled for 5 p.m. and admission is free for all spectators. Parking is also free for all women's basketball games at LJVM Coliseum, as lots open two hours prior to tipoff.
An opportunity for postgame autographs will be available for fans as well, held in the lower bowl with Wake Forest players.
2026-27 Schedule
The Deacs recently completed their schedule for the upcoming season, primed for a winter full of intriguing matchups.
The non-conference slate features 13 contests, including a seven-game homestand to open the 2026-27 campaign. Additionally, the team will visit Arkansas in the SEC/ACC Challenge on Dec. 3 before facing Auburn on the road days later. Mid-December home showings versus UNC Asheville and Furman will wrap non-conference action for the Deacs.
Wake Forest's ACC schedule was unveiled by the league office weeks ago, headlined by 18 opponents and nine home conference games:
Home Opponents: Clemson, SMU, Pitt, Stanford, Cal, Louisville, Boston College, Duke, NC State.
Away Opponents: Virginia Tech, North Carolina, Georgia Tech, Virginia, NC State, Florida State, Miami, Notre Dame, Syracuse.

Women's Basketball Overview
The Demon Deacons enter year five of the Megan Gebbia era this winter, coming off a 2025-26 season that saw the program tally 14 wins and open with nine straight, good for its best start since the 2008-09 campaign when the team had 12 consecutive wins. Additionally, Wake Forest was the last undefeated team in the ACC and one of just 28 teams in the country to win its first nine games of the season. The Deacs went on to make an appearance in the 2026 WNIT - its second year of participation in the event within the last four seasons.

- Led the Deacs in three-pointers made (70) and free throw percentage (.864).
- Aurora Sørbye, Junior Guard
- Paced the team in both total assists (95) and assists per game as a sophomore (3.0).
- Appeared in all 32 contests last season and added 7.2 points a night.
- Opal Bird, Sophomore Forward
- Tied with Mary Carter as the team leader in blocks (21) this past season.
- Ranked second among ACC freshmen in assists per game (2.8).
- Madisyn Jordan, Senior Guard/Forward
- Four-year member who competed in all 31 games as a junior.
- Ranked fourth on the roster in three-pointers made in each of the last three seasons.
- Grace Galbavy, Sophomore Guard
- Played in 20 contests as a freshman.
- Scored 11 points versus NC State and tallied a season-high five blocks in the WNIT first round.
- Savannah Metcalfe, Sophomore Forward
- Made 14 appearances as a freshman before her season was cut short due to injury.

- Adora Nwude, Freshman Guard
- Helped lead Bullis School (Md.) to the 2026 Chipotle National Championship game.
- Also won the 2026 Maryland Private School Basketball Championship.
- Scored over 1,000 points through her four years.

- Helena Danielewicz, Freshman Forward
- Recognized as one of Poland's most promising young prospects.
- Had a standout summer competing for Poland at the FIBA U-18 Women's EuroBasket 2026.
- Breauna Ware, Graduate Guard
- Experienced guard who has played in 84 career games with stops at Wisconsin, Stony Brook and St. Bonaventure.
- Competed in 25 games at Wisconsin last season and shot 38.9 percent from three-point distance.
- Ramiyah Byrd, Redshirt Junior Guard/Forward
- Spent the last three seasons at Cincinnati as one of the team's top rebounders.
- Coming off a 2025-26 campaign that saw her make 29 appearances.
- Mckenzie Swanson, Redshirt Sophomore Forward
- Member of the Butler Bulldogs' program for the past two seasons.
- Four-star recruit in high school and 2023-24 McDonald's All-American nominee.
