Bill Newton Joins Deacon Media Relations Staff

Newton brings five years of experience in college athletic media relations to his new post.

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Bill Newton will join the Wake Forest University athletic department as assistant media relations director Deacon officials announced today. Newton officially began his duties on Monday (June 5).

Newton brings five years of experience in college athletic media relations to his new post. He served the past year as a graduate assistant at the University of Kansas. Previously, he worked four years as an undergraduate in the University of Kansas sports information office.

At Kansas, Newton helped publicize the Jayhawk soccer, softball and swimming and diving teams. He was recognized for his work by the collegiate soccer coaches. The 23-year old Lawrence (Kan.) native also assisted in the publicity of KU's men's and women's basketball and football programs.
