Vest Promoted To Assistant Media Relations Director

In his second year in the media relations office, Vest will take on additional responsibilities with Wake Forest's football publication.

Winston-Salem, NC -- Demon Deacon officials announced the promotion of Mike Vest to assistant media relations director today. Vest officially began his duties on June 1.

Vest begins his second year in the Wake Forest media relations office after serving as the intern during the 2000-01 academic year. Vest's responsibilities included the handling of all publicity and publications for the nationally-ranked baseball and men's soccer teams. In addition to those tasks, Vest will also serve as the editor of Kickoff, the game-day publication of Wake Forest football.

A native of Overland Park, Kan., Vest graduated from the University of Kansas in 2000 with a bachelor of science degree from the William Allen White School of Journalism. While in Lawrence, Vest served as a student assistant in the University of Kansas sports information office for three years. During that time, he handled the publicity and publications for the now-defunct men's swimming and diving and men's tennis programs as well as the Jayhawk women's swimming team. He also helped with the publicity of the football and basketball teams.
