WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - With a new line of logos introduced today, Wake Forest University athletics take on a new look. The logos, which will compliment, not replace Wake Forest's traditional logos, will be featured soon on merchandise, clothing and publications.
Designed by the Silverman Group of New Haven (Conn.), the new line of logos blend WFU's traditional and classic style and colors of old gold and black with a modern style. Merchandise featuring these new marks will be found in Deacon Shop locations beginning this fall.
"Our vendors have been very supportive of the new offerings in our trademark," associate athletic director for marketing and promotions Joel Nielsen said. "The early reaction from our staff, coaches and players has been very positive."
Wake Forest's licensing revenue has grown more than 400 percent over the last seven years.
"The design company (Silverman Group) did an excellent job of incorporating our traditions with a look ahead to the future," Nielsen said. "And Wake Forest is also appreciative of the efforts of LRG (Licensing Resource Group) for their coordination of the design work and release."
