Bertsch, Hoffman Join Wake Forest Media Relations Staff

WINSTON-SALEM, NC - Michael Bertsch, previously the assistant sports information director at UNC Greensboro, was named Wake Forest's assistant media relations director today. In addition, 2003 University of North Carolina graduate Jeremy Hoffman was named media relations intern.

Bertsch, 26, will handle publicity efforts for Wake Forest's women's soccer, women's basketball and women's tennis teams. Bertsch worked two years at UNCG, where he worked with the Spartan baseball, women's basketball and women's soccer teams. Previously, he served as a graduate assistant and assistant SID at Marshall. Bertsch is a 1998 graduate of Walsh University and he earned his Master's from Marshall in 2001.

Hoffman, 22, will handle publicity for the Deacon volleyball, cross country, track and field and men's tennis teams. Hoffman comes to Wake Forest after working two years in the North Carolina athletic communications office. This past spring he served as the media contact for the Tar Heel baseball team, which advanced to the Super Regional round of the NCAA Baseball Tournament.

Bertsch replaces Bill Newton, who recently accepted a position at NC State. Hoffman replaces Lauren Cooper, who accepted a full-time position at Longwood University.
