Joanna Sparkman Joins Wake Forest Athletic Department Staff

Sparkman named associate media relations director.

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Joanna Sparkman, who has worked in athletics throughout the Atlantic Coast Conference and the state of North Carolina since the mid-1990s, was officially named Wake Forest's associate media relations director today.

Sparkman, 27, comes to Wake Forest after working two years in the sports information office at Duke. Previously she worked in similar capacities at East Carolina and the ACC office in Greensboro. A 1995 Florida State graduate, Sparkman worked in the Seminole SID office as an undergraduate.

At Wake Forest, Sparkman will work primarily with the sports of football, women's basketball and women's tennis. She will also be responsible for editing a number of Deacon publications and media guides.
