
Veteran sportscaster Stan Cotten is in his 20th season of describing the radio play-by-play of college athletics. He is in his fourth season with ISP Sports in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, as the "Voice of the Demon Deacons" for the Wake Forest ISP Sports Network. He handles the radio play-by-play of football, men's basketball and baseball for the ACC school. Cotten can be heard weekdays across North Carolina on the Rose Furniture Deacon Report, a one minute update on Wake Forest athletics. In addition, the Knoxville, Tennessee, native hosts the Wake Forest radio coaches' show, Deacon SportsPage, which airs weekly throughout the football and basketball seasons. Cotten also hosts the Deacon Minute, a weekly television update on the Demon Deacons which can be seen on broadcast stations and cable networks across the South. Prior to his current stint at Wake Forest, Cotten was the radio play-by-play voice of the Marshall Thundering Herd from 1992-96. A 1983 graduate of the University of Tennessee, Cotten was a long time fixture on the Knoxville sports scene, serving as sports director for Vol Network flagship station WIVK and two Knoxville television stations. He got his play-by-play start at small college football power Carson-Newman in 1980. Cotten is a three time Associated Press broadcast award winner. |
