Dean Buchan begins his seventh year on the Wake Forest athletics staff, overseeing the department's media relations efforts for 18 varsity sports.
The primary media contact for men's basketball and men's golf, Buchan serves as editor of the Wake Forest Basketball Media Guide. The publication has been ranked in the top six in three of the last seven years including a second place finish in 2005.
Buchan came to Wake Forest in April 2000 from the University of Kansas, where he served as sports information director for 10 years. There he was the primary media contact for the men's basketball team. He served as assistant sports information director at East Carolina from 1987-90 and worked on the communication staffs at the 1989 and 1990 Orange Bowls.
A certified personal trainer who completed his first marathon in April, Buchan resides in Winston-Salem.
