Steps to calculate your GPA:
1) Convert every letter grade into the number of points it is worth from the list above to get the grade points.
2) Multiple the grade points for each grade by the hours each course is worth.
3) Add up all of the numbers from step 3 to get your total grade points.
4) Add up the total hours taken.
5) Divide the total grade points from step 3 by the total hours from step 4 to get your Grade Point Average.

Steps to calculate the grades you need to earn to obtain a specific GPA
Needed information: Total number of hours attempted in career plus total number of hours enrolled in. Total number of grade points accumulated.
1) Multiply the cumulative GPA that you want by the total number of hours you have attempted plus the total number of hours you are enrolled in. (This gives you the total number of grade points that you need in order to achieve the stated cumulative GPA.)
2) Subtract your current grade points from the total you got in step 1 to find out how many grade points you need this semester.
3) Divide the number of grade points you need by the number of hours you are taking to find out how many grade points per hour you must earn.
4) Convert the number from step 3 into a letter grade using the list above in order to determine the average grade you need to earn in order to achieve your desired GPA.

Consult with the Registrar or your faculty Academic Advisor if you have questions.
