February 3, 1834 - Wake Forest Institute was founded in Wake Forest, NC
1838 - The school was re-chartered as Wake Forest College
1894 - The School of Law was established
1902 - The School of Medicine was founded
1942 - Women were admitted as regular undergraduate students
1948 - The School of Business was founded
1956 - The College moved to Winston-Salem, NC
1962 - The trustees voted to desegregate the school and admitted its first minority student
1967 - The trustees changed the name to Wake Forest University
1996 - The Divinity School opened |
