All Student Managers at Wake Forest are eligible and encouraged to apply for different scholarships offered by various organizations.

MANAGERS ON A MISSION (MOAM) AFRICA MISSION TRIP SCHOLARSHIP

All Student Managers at Wake Forest are eligible to apply for the annual Managers On A Mission (MOAM) Mission Trip to Africa. The winning applicants will receive all travel and lodging expenses (nearly $4,000 value) to a Rafiki Orphanage Training Village located in one of Africa's most impoverished nations. MOAM conducts these mission trips to recognize student managers as future leaders of sport and to assist in their personal development.

    MANAGERS ON A MISSION (MOAM) SCHOLARSHIP

    All Student Managers at Wake Forest are eligible to apply for the Managers On A Mission (MOAM) Scholarship. The scholarship is a $500 award given before the start of the Fall semester to the winner of MOAM's essay contest. Winners are announced annually at the AEMA Convention.

    To be eligible, the student must be enrolled in Fall classes and need scholarship assistance. MOAM will deposit the scholarship directly to the student's account for the Fall semester. The essay topic for the previous year was how have your student manager experiences developed you as a person and better prepared you for the next chapter in your life?

    It is always MOAM's goal to further develop student managers and they believe that this scholarship opportunity is a great way for your student managers to keep up with their education.     JIMMY CALLAWAY SCHOLARSHIPjimmy callaway

    All Student Managers at Wake Forest are eligible to apply for the Jimmy Callaway Scholarship. The scholarship is a $500 award given annually to the two most deserving student managers.

    Jimmy Callaway was a ball boy in 1947 when the Florida State Seminoles took the football field. Jimmy went on to serve as Assistant Equipment Manager and Head Equipment Manager at Florida State for more than 36 years. He touched the lives of all of all who came through the locker room doors for more than fifty years at Florida State. Jimmy exemplified the qualities of leadership, integrity, community involvement and dedication to athletes and administrators. It is these same qualities that are looked at when selecting a recipient for this award.

    Three of our student managers have been awarded the Jimmy Callaway Scholarship:

  • Nic Hess - Football - 2010

    RUSSELL ATHLETICS SCHOLARSHIP

    All Student Managers at Wake Forest are eligible to apply for the Russell Athletics Scholarship. The scholarship is a $500 award given annually to the three most deserving student managers in the country.

    The Athletic Equipment Managers Association, in keeping with the AEMA objectives of the following, has developed this college scholarship program to assist students with the many expenses of a college education:

  • The advancement, encouragement and improvement of the Athletic Equipment profession in all its phases, and to promote a better working relationship among those persons interested in the problems of this management.
  • To develop further the professional ability of each of its members.
  • To better serve the common interests of its members by providing a means for a free exchange off ideas within the profession.
  • To enable members to become better acquainted personally through casual good fellowship.
  • To work as a group to bring about equipment improvements for greater safety of participants in all sports, recreation activities, and physical education.

    Applicants must be full-time college students with one year collegiate athletic equipment management experience. Applicants must also display an interest in the field of Athletic Equipment Management.

    The scholarship awards will be based on the following criteria: academic achievement, community involvement, displayed interest in Athletic Equipment Management, completion of an essay and letters of recommendation.

    All applications must be submitted to the National Office by March 15th.
