Biomechanical Evaluations

Using state-of-the-art equipment and technology including 16 high-speed cameras and motion capture markers, our expert staff is able to record every detail of a pitcher's throwing delivery and follow through to provide instant feedback on several large video monitors. After a thorough analysis, that data is used to develop customized training programs targeted at the individual needs of the pitcher.

Sports Performance
The biomechanical evaluations include data from three areas:

  1. Kinematics & kinetics
  2. Functional movement
  3. Baseline strength.

Together, this data will identify a wide range of potential flaws and areas for improvement that impact a pitcher’s performance and long-term health.

Our highly skilled pitching coach, certified athletic trainer, and strength coach then collaborate to develop a customized training program. Our goal is to help our players pitch at the top of their ability level and give them the tools to stay healthy.

Currently, the Pitching Lab is only open to Wake Forest University student-athletes. We anticipate that around June 1, 2019, we will open our doors to the public. At that time, we will be accepting applications from high schools and travel baseball teams in groups of 10-20 pitchers. It is uncertain as to when we will be opening our doors to individual amateur pitchers, but it will not likely be in 2019.
