2020 Football Student Ticket Lottery FAQs

How will the lottery be weighted to begin the season?

All students will earn a base of 250 points upon activation of their Screamin’ Demon Rewards account and app download. Each student will receive an additional 100 points per year of classification: 100 for freshmen, 200 for sophomores, 300 for juniors, and 400 for seniors. Additional points will be awarded to all sophomores, juniors, and seniors based on their attendance at home football games last season. They will earn 100 points per game they attended and scanned their ID for entry.

Will students be able to earn additional points throughout the season?

Yes. For each game a student attends at Truist Field this season, they will have the opportunity to earn up to 225 points. This point total is broken down as follows:

Students who enter a football ticket lottery will receive 50 points
Students who win tickets and attend the game will receive 50 points
- 50 bonus points will be awarded to those who scan for entry to the seating bowl more than 30 minutes prior to kickoff.
- 75 bonus points will be awarded to students who stay in the stadium through the completion of the game. This point bonus can be earned by simply opening the SDR app at the completion of the game, and ensuring their geolocation is enabled when using the app.

Additionally, students can earn points for attending other non-football athletic and campus events. This includes events such as soccer, volleyball, field hockey, and other campus events. Students should check the SDR app events stream each week to learn what point earning opportunities are available.

How are points used in the lottery?

Each time a student enters the ticket lottery, they will receive a number of entries equal to the total number of points they have earned. Therefore, the more points a student earns, the higher chance they have of winning tickets to a game.

How are points calculated?

Beginning of the Year
Install Mobile Rewards/Ticket App	+ 150 points

Enter, but do not win a lottery	+ 50 points

Not enter a lottery	0 points
Stay until the game concludes	+ 75 points

Failure to attend two football games when awarded a ticket will result in removal from ALL future lottery sets for the season.

Are there other opportunities to earn points besides attending football games?

Select games of other sports provide an opportunity to earn points. These opportunities will be communicated to students via email and will be visible in the Screamin’ Demon Rewards app. This will include both athletics and campus events.

Students who attend the Duke’s Mayo Classic in Charlotte this season, when your Deacs take on Notre Dame on September 26th, will receive +250 points.

What if my point total is incorrect?

Please allow 48 hours after each game for points to be updated. After 48 hours, if you believe your point total is incorrect, please email rewards@wfu.edu with how many points you believe you are missing and from what game(s). You will have one week after an event to have your points rechecked.

What should I do if I win tickets to a game, but can no longer attend?

If you win a ticket and can no longer attend, you have two options:

This step will allow fans greater convenience, security, and control over their tickets while also minimizing counterfeiting and loss or theft of paper tickets.

You may transfer the ticket to a friend through the app. Please note that the transfer must be accepted by the recipient.
You may cancel your ticket which goes to the next student on the waitlist. You may do either of these options until the end of the transfer/cancel period (24 hours before kick-off) - unless otherwise noted. Please make sure you check the app for the transfer/cancel period deadline. If you transfer/cancel, your point total will not be affected. However, if you keep your ticket and do not attend, you will lose 100 points.

Does my class year affect my chances of winning tickets?

All Wake Forest students are eligible for the student ticket lottery. At the time of registration, students will receive a bonus set of points based upon their classification to provide them more entries into the ticket lotteries. However, there is no preferential treatment in the lottery selections. The system is designed to reward students who attend and stay until the completion of games, as well as those who regularly enter lotteries to try to attend games.

What should I do if I win tickets to a game, but can no longer attend?

In order to enter Truist Field, you will simply show your mobile ticket which is housed within the Screamin’ Demon Rewards app. Just click on “View Card” at the top of the screen. It will always be in the app, but it will be turned on or off based upon if you have access to a game.

Can I sit with my friends?

After a student has entered a ticket lottery, but before the lottery drawing has occurred, they may choose to pair up with another student. They simply enter that student’s information into their app as their seating pair, and once the other student accepts that request, they would be entered into the lottery as a pair. This means, the students would be entered together in the lottery, and would either both receive tickets, or neither receive tickets. There are also limited opportunities for groups of four to pair up to attend. However, it is important to remember that once grouped into that group of four, they would win or lose the lottery as a group.

What if I attended a game in 2019, but sat in a season ticket holder’s seat and did not scan my ID, thus not being able to receive my credit for attendance?

If you attended games from last season, but did not scan your student ID, and instead used a standard ticket for entry, or attended the game in some type of working capacity, you will need to fill out the Points Request Form, found in the Screamin’ Demons app and website, prior to September 2nd in order to receive credit for attending those games.
