Alex Stadler joined the Wake Forest football staff in 2019 as an offensive analyst. Stadler came to the Demon Deacons after four seasons as the offensive line coach at Virginia State University. Stadler has reunited with head coach Dave Clawson after the two coached together at Bowling Green State University in 2013.
After helping Bowling Green win the MAC championship in 2013, Stadler went on to serve as the offensive line coach at Sul Ross State in Alpine, TX in 2014. From there, Stadler went on to Virginia State University where the team experienced unprecedented success culminating in a CIAA championship and NCAA playoff appearance in 2017. Stadler has coached 16 players to all-conference honors including 4 All-American selections.
Stadler, from Bealeton, Va., originally attended the University of Alabama before transferring to Liberty University where he was a three-year starter and a three-time all-conference selection for the Flames. He was named captain his senior year while earning a bachelor's degree in communications. He received his master's in sports administration from Liberty in 2013. Stadler began his coaching career at Liberty in 2011 as a graduate assistant then moved on the University of Richmond in 2012.
Alex and his wife Heather reside in Winston-Salem.
