Andrew Downing joined Wake Forest in January of 2018 as an assistant athletic trainer. He works specifically with the Wake Forest men's tennis and football programs.

Prior to Wake Forest, Downing spent the 2017-18 season with the Detroit Lions as an athletic training intern. No stranger to North Carolina, Downing was a member of the Appalachian State athletic training program in 2016 as a football athletic training intern.

Downing received his bachelor's degree in Athletic Training from Eastern Washington University in 2014 and a master's degree in Education from Northern Arizona University in 2016, where he spent two seasons as a graduate athletic trainer.

Downing currently resides in Winston-Salem.
