Austin Gund enters his third season as a graduate assistant under head coach Dave Clawson.
He works primarily with the offensive line, assisting offensive line coach Nick Tabacca on a day-to-day basis.
Gund spent the previous two seasons serving as the offensive line coach and director of football operations at Belhaven University (MS).
During his two seasons at Belhaven, Gund was instrumental in the Blazers transformation from an Air Raid to a Pro Style offense.
Prior to his time at Belhaven, Gund worked as an offensive quality control coach at Delaware. While working with the offensive line during his time on campus, the Blue Hens averaged 190.7 rushing yards per game, which ranked second in the CAA. Delaware averaged 4.2 yards per carry and just 20 sacks allowed over the course of the 2017 season.
A 2015 graduate of the University of Richmond, Gund was a four-year starter at center for the Spiders, serving as a team captain during his final three seasons. He helped lead Richmond to two FCS playoff appearances while on campus including the 2012 CAA Conference Championship.
In his final two seasons with the Spiders, Gund earned first team All-CAA honors while being named a second team All-American in 2014. Over his career, he totaled 42 starts in the middle of the Richmond offensive line.
