Nick Richey is in his second season as an assistant athletic trainer at Wake Forest in 2015-16. Richey serves as the head athletic trainer for the Demon Deacon football program.

Richey joined the Demon Deacons after spending two seasons as the Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Medicine at Bowling Green State University where he worked with Dave Clawson and the Falcon football program.

Prior to Bowling Green, Richey was an assistant athletic trainer at the University of Illinois for five seasons, including four years as the head athletic trainer for football. He also served as an assistant athletic trainer at Notre Dame and as a graduate assistant at Virginia Tech while earning his master's degree.

A native of Greenfield, Ind. Richey received his bachelor's degree in athletic training from Purdue University in 2003 and his master's of education degree in Health and Promotions and Health Education from Virginia Tech in 2005.

Nick and his wife Abby have three children, sons Hayden (6) and Grady (4) and daughter Cecilia (2). The Richeys reside in Winston-Salem with their dog Max.
