Patrick McDowell begins his first season as a coordinator of sports performance working with the Demon Deacon football team in 2015-16.

McDowell spent the past four years as the strength and conditioning coach and defensive coordinator at Fork Union Military Academy. He also served as the commanding officer of Delta Company where he supervised 60 resident cadets.

A 2004 graduate of Virginia Military Institute with a degree in English, McDowell has served as a defensive line coaching fellow with the Philadelphia Eagles and also coached at a pair of Virginia Beach high schools: Ocean Lakes and First Colonial. He began his career as a student assistant coach at VMI.
