Patterson's Collegiate Bio Kevin Patterson, a former Wake Forest safety, is in his third season on the Wake Forest staff in 2013 as a defensive graduate assistant. Patterson was a four-year letterwinner for the Deacs from 2005-08. He played in a total of 47 games and recorded seven interceptions, including four during his senior season. Patterson finished his career with 174 tackles while his 54 stops in 2008 were fourth-best on the team. As a vital part of the secondary, Patterson played in all 14 games of Wake Forest's ACC Championship season in 2006, including making a season-high five tackles in the Orange Bowl against Louisville. Patterson returned one of his two interceptions that season for a 48-yard touchdown in the Deacons' 30-0 victory at Florida State. The Kingsland, Ga., native graduated from Wake Forest in 2009 with a degree in sociology. Following graduation, he played for the Amarillo Venom of the Indoor Football League in 2009, before returning to his hometown of Kingsland, Ga. as a substitute teacher. He then worked for Big Brothers Big Sisters in Winston-Salem.
