Joey White joined the Wake Forest women's basketball staff ahead of the 2022-23 season and serves as the Director of Analytics and Player Personnel.
In this role, he serves in as the head of the statistical and analytical team, helping analyze the program and helping break down future opponents. He also assists in all recruiting and roster analysis. In the offseason, he helps prepares comprehensive individualized development programs for student-athletes using data driven analysis for improvement in a multitude of areas.
During White’s first season working with the program, the Deacs tied the most since the 2011-12 season, defeated four NCAA Tournament teams including wins over two Elite Eight teams and grabbed 12 wins at home, the fourth-highest total in program history.
White came into the role proficient in Hudl Sportscode, the Synergy Sports Suite, and Fast Model Sports Suite while gaining experience at West Virginia as a video coordinator over the past season. In this role, he managed all scouting breakdown and dissemination of opponent video to WVU coaching staff in a timely manner in addition to managing a staff of volunteer student managers and practice players.
In addition the last year as a video coordinator, he also worked as the head manager during the 2020-21 season for the Mountaineer women's basketball program assisting in daily organization and execution of West Virginia women’s basketball activities, including practices, games, individual workouts, recruiting visits, road trips, etc.
Also, he managed a staff of volunteer student managers and practice players while also creating video content for the @WVUWBB Instagram account and assisted video coordinator in production of scout tapes, recruiting videos, and player highlights.
During his time in Morgantown, W.V., White earned his bachelor's degree in Journalism in 2020 with minors in Spanish and Sports Communication with honors. Additionally, he completed two master's degrees in Sports Management and Sports Coach in August 2022 from West Virginia.
