Grachen came to Wake Forest from Canisius College in Buffalo, N.Y. where he spent two seasons as the Assistant Coach of Athletic Performance. He was responsible for the design and implementation of all aspects of physical preparations for the baseball, men's lacrosse, softball, men's and women's soccer and women's rowing programs. In his time at Canisius he helped the Griffins to MAAC Championships in men's lacrosse and baseball.
He previously spent time as a graduate assistant at Virginia Commonwealth University and Southeast Missouri State University. While at VCU he worked primarily with men's and women's track and field. While at Southeast he was responsible women's basketball, volleyball, softball and track and field while also assisting with football and men's basketball.
Grachen was a volunteer intern PIttsburgh where he assisted with all aspects of strength & conditioning for football, men's basketball, wrestling, volleyball, softball, men's and women's soccer, swimming and diving, track and field, cross country, and gymnastics.
Originally from North Huntingdon, Penn., Grachen graduated from Pitt with a bachelor's degree in Health and Physical Activity in May of 2009. He earned his master's degree in Sports Administration from Canisius in August 2013.
Grachen is a certified strength and conditioning coach by the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches association
