Mike Terry is in his fifth season with the Demon Deacons in 2016-17. He joined Jen Hoover's staff as an assistant coach in May 2012 after Hoover was hired to lead the program. Terry came to Wake Forest after spending two seasons as the associate head coach at Vermont.

The Demon Deacons have posted 58 victories with Terry on staff, including at least one win each season in the ACC Tournament.

Terry arrived at Vermont after spending four years as an assistant coach at Kent State University. During his tenure with the Golden Flashes, Kent State won 63 games and posted a 20-win season in 2009-10, earning a trip to the Postseason WNIT Tournament.

Before joining Kent State's staff, Terry served as an assistant coach at the University of New Mexico from 2003-06. With the Lobos, New Mexico won consecutive Mountain West Conference regular-season and tournament championships, made three-straight trips to the NCAA Tournament and spent the 2005-06 season in the USA TODAY/ESPN Coaches Poll and finished the season ranked No. 21 in the nation.

Prior to landing at New Mexico, Terry was the head varsity girls' basketball coach at The Benjamin School in North Palm Beach, Florida, from 1998-2003. Terry led The Benjamin School to six consecutive district championships, six regional championships and six final four appearances. His teams won state titles in 1999, 2001 and 2003 and he finished with a career record of 159-32 at the school.

A graduate of Western Ontario University in London, Ontario, Terry was recognized for his prep coaching excellence by being awarded the Palm Beach High School Coach of the Year, the Sun Sentinel Small Schools Coach of the Year and the F.A.C.A. Regional Coach of the Year in 2001 and 2003.
