Emily Stallings joined the Demon Deacons women's basketball staff as an assistant coach ahead of the 2022-23 season and added recruiting coordinator to her title ahead of the 2024-25 season. Stallings also plays a primary role in the team’s game scheduling.

During Stallings’ first season working with the program, the Deacs tied the most since the 2011-12 season, defeated four NCAA Tournament teams including wins over two Elite Eight teams and grabbed 12 wins at home, the fourth-highest total in program history.

Additionally with Stallings leading the posts, Wake Forest ended the season ranked fourth in program history with 123 blocks, increased the team’s assist percentage by nearly 20 percent and held ACC opponents at home to just 19.2 percent shooting from three.

Working with junior Demeara Hinds, she helped her make big strides during her first full season as a starter. Hinds says significant increases in points, rebounds, blocks and shooting percentage. Hinds, a nominee for the most improved player in the conference, led the team in rebounding and shooting percentage, knocking down 49.7 percent of shots. Additionally, her rebounds per game ranked in the top 10 in the ACC while her 90 offensive rebounds ranked sixth in the conference.

On the recruiting side, Stallings helped sign top talent in November, inking a top-25 recruiting class according to ESPNW. It also was the first time since the 2014 class that the Deacs have signed multiple top-100 players in the same class and just the second time in the ESPNW era.

Prior to Wake Forest

For the last nine years, Stallings worked with Coach Gebbia at American University, primarily overseeing the team’s perimeter and wing players. 

She aided in a crucial role in the development of Eagle standout Jade Edwards (2018-22), who became a five-time All-Patriot League selection and stands as one of only five players in program history to rank in the top ten in career records of points (1,232), rebounds (645) and blocks (57).

Stallings’ resume at American includes managing two Patriot League Players of the Year, eight All-Patriot League selections, four Patriot League All-Defensive Team selections, three Patriot League Scholar-Athletes of the Year and four Academic All-Patriot League Team honorees.

Before arriving to American in 2013, Stallings got her start in the coaching field as a graduate assistant at East Stroudsburg University, aiding in areas of practice planning, recruiting and post player development.

During her college playing days, Stallings was a contributor at Marist College, competing for four seasons. Her last two years saw her named to the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) All-Academic Team. She additionally helped her teams win four conference titles while making the NCAA tournament each year including back-to-back trips to the Round of 32 during her junior and senior seasons.

Stallings graduated in 2012 with a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and secondary education before earning a Master in secondary education from East Stroudsburg in 2014.
