Josh Proffitt joined the Wake Forest sports medicine staff as an Assistant Athletic Trainer for the football program in May 2026.
A native of Asheville, N.C., Proffitt attended Western Carolina University and graduated with a bachelor's degree in athletic training in 2022. Two years later, he obtained a doctorate in athletic training from Indiana State, where he also worked with the Sycamores' football team as a graduate athletic trainer. In 2024, Proffitt joined the sports medicine team at Newberry College.
