Volleyball Sweeps North Carolina A&T

Winston-Salem, N.C. - Sophomores Trina Maso de Moya and Margaret Davidson combined for 25 kills as Wake Forest defeated North Carolina A&T State three games to none Tuesday evening at Reynolds Gym.
The Demon Deacons held the visiting Aggies to a .074 attack percentage, and registered 43 digs en route to the victory. NC A&T jumped out to a 1-0 lead on Wake in the first game, but the Deacs came back and went ahead 11-4 before finishing out the game with a 15-5 win. The second game proved to be an defensive display by Wake Forest, who allowed only six kills and forced six errors by the Aggies. The Deacons recorded 17 kills in game three, and held NC A&T to a mere .079 hitting percentage.
Maso de Moya led Wake with 13 kills and 11 digs, while Davidson registered 12 kills. Freshman setter Ashlee Phillips had a game-high 38 assists. Her counterpart for the Aggies, Gina Renzaglia, recorded 21 assists.
Wake Forest improves to 16-5 overall and remains 4-3 in the ACC. The Deacons return to league play Friday, October 15, when Duke visits Reynolds Gym in a 7 p.m. match.
