RALEIGH, N.C. - Sophomore Trina Maso de Moya recorded 20 kills and a .444 attack percentage to lead the Wake Forest women's volleyball team to a 3-1 victory over NC State on Friday in Reynolds Coliseum. With the victory, the Demon Deacons move to 13-4 on the season with a 2-2 ACC mark while the 'Pack falls to 9-10 overall with a 0-3 ACC record.
Wake Forest came out hot in the first game as they took a commanding 12-6 lead. A Wolfpack rally moved the score to 13-11 before the Deacs took the final two points of the game. Wake kept its momentum in Game 2, jumping out to a 9-1 lead and rolling to a 15-5 decision. The Pack rallied in the fourth game, though, earning a 15-11 win. The final game was a heated contest, as neither team would hold larger than a three-point advantage. State and Wake traded point for point until the game stood at an 11-11 stalemate. Following a time out by the Deacons, Wake Forest took four of the next five points to win the game, 15-12.
