CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - The fourth-ranked Wake Forest field hockey team defeated the Boston College Eagles 3-0 Friday night.

The Demon Deacons got on the scoreboard first when sophomore Carrie Neidhardt scored off a corner at 16:52 in the first half. Her goal was unassisted.

Jenny Everett put the Deacons up 2-0 on her goal at the 30:40 mark in the second half. Her goal came on a put-back after the Boston College goalkeeper stopped her initial shot.

Wake posted its third goal at 6:33 in the second half when Everett scored her second goal of the game off a scramble in front of the goal, resulting from a penalty corner.

Goaltender Meaghan Nitka made 4 saves for the win for Wake Forest. In the losing effort, BC goalkeeper Jill Dedman made 18 saves.

Wake Forest improves to 15-2 on the season with the win, while Boston College drops to 9-9 with the loss.

Wake Forest will return to action on Saturday when it plays at Boston University. Gametime is set for 6 p.m.
