WINSTON-SALEM, N.C.--After a slow start in Game 1, the Lady Deacons exploded in Games 2 and 3 to beat the visiting Terps of Maryland 3-0 at Reynolds Gym Friday night. Sophomore Trina Maso de Moya recorded 10 kills and 13 digs, while junior Jessica Hood added 10 kills and a .350 hitting percentage.
Wake Forest (14-5, 3-3) got off to a slow start in Game 1, winning 16-14. Wake recorded a .800 hitting percentage in a 15-0, Game 2 shut-out, and carried the momentum into Game 3, winning soundly, 15-6.
For Maryland (9-10, 2-3), Beth Murphy garnered 9 kills, while Kate Hannas recorded 10 digs.
Wake Forest host Virginia on Saturday, Oct. 9, at 6:00 pm in Reynolds Gym.
