Field Hockey Places Four On National Academic Squad

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Four members of the Wake Forest field hockey team were named to the National Academic Squad released by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Tuesday.

Everett had a grade-point average of 3.95 this past semester. Hechenbleikner's GPA was 3.6, Marchell's was 3.53 and Kubic's was 3.5. The minimum GPA to make the National Academic Squad is 3.30. All four members also earned Dean's List honors for their work in the classroom. Everett, Hechenbleikner and Marchell were all named to the team last season as well.

The Deacons are coming off a season in which they posted a record of 18-4, the best in the program's history. Wake was also ranked as high as third nationally during the season, which is the highest ranking the team has ever received.
