WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- Wake Forest field hockey coach Jennifer Averill has been named Dita/National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) South Region Coach of the Year.

Averill led her team to an 18-4 record and a number three national ranking, both school highs. Her team also reached the finals of the ACC Tournament for the first time and competed in its first NCAA Tournament, making it to the quarterfinal round.
