Aydin Falls in NCAA Singles Championship

NOTRE DAME, Ind. - Wake Forest women's tennis senior Lule Aydin (Coopersburg, PA) lost her second round match in the 1998 NCAA Singles Championship on Tuesday at the Courtney Tennis Center at the University of Notre Dame.
Aydin fell to California's Amanda Augustus, the tournament's #3 seed, in a three-set match, 5-7, 6-2, 6-2. The loss snapped a 10-match winning streak for the senior after advancing to the final round of 32 for the first time in her career.
Aydin finishes her four-year career with 102 singles victories. She concludes the 1997-98 season with an outstanding 34-14 singles record, the third highest single season win total in school history.
