Georgia Tech Edges Wake Forest, 58-53

ATLANTA, GA - Carla Munnion scored 21 points to lift Georgia Tech to a 58-53 win over visiting Wake Forest on Friday night at Alexander Memorial Coliseum. Wake outrebounded Tech 35-26 and shot 46 percent from the floor, but the Deacs committed 28 turnovers in the loss. WFU jumped to an early 14-9 lead before Tech scored 11 straight to take the lead. The Deacs answered with an 11-2 run and held a 25-22 edge at halftime. Tech pulled ahead by seven early in the second half, but Wake tied the game at 35-35 midway through the period. The Yellow Jackets surged ahead by nine as the Deacs continued to turn over the ball, and Wake's final run fell short. Alisha Mosley scored a career-high 18 points for the Deacs, while Emon McMillian added 11 points and seven rebounds. For Georgia Tech, Joannah Kauffman added 14 points and 13 rebounds.
