Wake Forest Set to Face Cal in the ACC Tournament

The Demon Deacons advanced in the last five tournaments including quarterfinal appearances in the 2023, 2021 and 2020 ACC Tournaments.
DULUTH, Ga. – The Wake Forest women's basketball team will be the No. 15 seed in the ACC Tournament, as announced by the league office Sunday night.
Come support your Demon Deacons (14-16, 4-14 ACC) as they are set to play No. 10 seed Cal (18-13, 9-9 ACC) in the first round Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. (ET) in Duluth, Ga. ACC Tournament tickets are now on sale. Come and support the Deacs!
This marks the third neutral site contest between the two schools with the two schools splitting the previous two matchups heading into Wednesday. Additionally, this will mark the first time Wake Forest will play Cal in the ACC Tournament after the Bears joined the conference ahead of last season.
This marks the third appearance in the ACC Tournament in Megan Gebbia's four seasons at Wake Forest. Additionally, the Demon Deacons 14 wins this season are the second-most in her tenure.
The winner of the game will face No. 7 seed Syracuse (22-7, 12-6 ACC) at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
Both games will be broadcasted on ACC Network.

- The Demon Deacons played a closely contested game at Cal earlier this season, playing the Bears on the road for the first time in series history, falling 61-52 in Berkley.
- The Demon Deacons had an excellent game in the paint, with 32 points posted inside, while allowing Cal to score just 22, a 10-point deficit.
- The Deacs in the second half especially were strong in the paint, scoring 24 of the 32 points in the paint in the final 20 minutes of the game.
- With a team-high 14 points, junior guard/forward Mary Carter spearheaded the Wake Forest offense. Additionally, the Rocklin, Calif.-native tied sophomore guard Grace Oliver with seven rebounds. Oliver finished with nine points in the game.
