The Wisconsin transfer has played in 84 collegiate games throughout her career, totaling 742 points.
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Wake Forest women's basketball head coach Megan Gebbia announced the signing of guard Breauna Ware on Friday.
A graduate transfer from Wisconsin, Ware comes in as the seventh scholarship addition to the 2026-27 roster overall and the third transfer, as the Deacs also added Cincinnati guard/forward Ramiyah Byrd and Butler forward Mckenzie Swanson.
Forward Helena Danielewicz made it official with the Deacs last week to round out the team's 2026 signing class. Within their incoming freshman class, Gebbia and the Deacs also signed Nigerian center Awele Okoh in mid-April, inked guard Oshauna Holland in November and landed recently signed guard Adora Nwude.
Ware is an experienced guard who has played in 84 games in her collegiate career, scoring 742 points through three seasons of action.
Last season at Wisconsin, Ware shot a career-high 39.8 percent from behind the arc and averaged 5.4 points per game in 25 games including 13 starts. Prior to her time at Wisconsin, Ware averaged 14.7 points, 4.0 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.2 steals in 2024-25 at Stony Brook, earning All-CAA honors.

"I'm very grateful and excited. It means everything to finally feel wanted and accepted for exactly who I am." – Breauna Ware
From Coach Gebbia
"Breauna is a gifted breakdown guard who can score at all three levels. Her creativity and IQ along with her Power-Four playing experience will immediately impact the success of our backcourt. She has the ability to play fast and create opportunities for herself and her teammates with her pace and savviness. I love the idea of giving her the ball and allowing her to use her creativity and force mismatch opportunities in the open floor, as well as the end of the shot clock. She brings veteran leadership and the knowledge of what it takes to win at this level. We knew she was a great fit and her visit just reiterated it."
