Basketball Supporters Group to Make Return for 2026-27 Women’s Basketball Season

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest Athletics is bringing back its Basketball Supporters Group for the 2026-27 women's basketball season, inviting Demon Deacon fans to show their enthusiasm as the loudest and proudest in The Triad.
The Supporters Group enters its fourth year, continuing to be present for fans who are dedicated to passionately supporting the Demon Deacons throughout the winter at Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum. As part of Wake Forest Athletics' commitment to creating the Best Fan Experience in North Carolina, the group plays a key role in enhancing the gameday environment and providing a true home-court advantage.
Applications are now open for new and returning members. All members from the 2025-26 season must reapply for consideration for the upcoming year. Following the application process, selected applicants will participate in a video interview before final members are announced.
Those who become members of the Supporters Group will receive complimentary tickets, exclusive invites to special events and more. Located in Section 114, all individuals are welcome in this space and new supporters are encouraged to apply. Fans can also learn more by reaching out to the Wake Forest Athletics Fan Experience team (wffanexp@wfu.edu).
In addition to tickets, members will receive several exclusive benefits, including:
Throughout the season, the group will collectively meet to help plan gameday traditions, chants and other initiatives. Additionally, a preseason meeting will take place, featuring Wake Forest basketball representatives while members sign a commitment pledge and code of conduct.
Fans who are not selected for the Supporters Group will still have opportunities to experience the home gameday atmosphere. Beginning with non-conference single-game ticket sales, seats in the Supporters Group section will be made available on a single-game basis through FEVO, allowing more fans to join the section throughout the season.
Non-Conference Matchups
The women's basketball program recently announced its 2026-27 non-conference schedule, as the Demon Deacons' slate features nine home games inside LJVM Coliseum and four out-of-state contests.
Beginning with the season opener against USC Upstate on Nov. 2, Wake Forest opens the 2026-27 campaign with a seven-game homestand through three weeks. The team will then travel to Tempe for an Arizona State Invitational (Nov. 28-29) before visiting Arkansas in the fourth annual SEC/ACC Challenge on Dec. 3. Days later, a road meeting at Auburn will take place. A final pair of home showings against UNC Asheville (Dec. 16) and Furman (Dec. 22) will wrap non-conference competition for the Deacs.

Women's Basketball Overview
The Demon Deacons will step into year five of the Megan Gebbia era this winter, coming off a 2025-26 season that saw the program tally 14 wins and open with nine straight, good for its best start since the 2008-09 campaign when the team had 12 consecutive wins. Additionally, Wake Forest was the last undefeated team in the ACC and one of just 28 teams in the country to win its first nine games of the season. The Deacs went on to make an appearance in the 2026 WNIT - its second year of participation in the event within the last four seasons.
Six players make up Wake Forest's returning core – Aurora Sørbye, Mary Carter, Opal Bird, Madisyn Jordan, Grace Galbavy and Savannah Metcalfe.
Starting as a forward, Carter was the second leading scorer for the team this past winter, averaging 11.0 points per game during her first year in Winston-Salem. The Rocklin, Calif., native also led the Deacs in three-pointers made (70) and free throw percentage (.864). Sørbye paced the team in both total assists (95) and assists per game as a sophomore (3.0) while appearing in all 32 contests and adding 7.2 points a night. Bird had an immediate first-year impact, tying with Carter as the team leader in blocks (21) while also ranking second among ACC freshmen in assists per game (2.8). Jordan and Galbavy provided valuable depth for the team as perimeter pieces while Metcalfe made 14 appearances as a freshman before her season was cut short due to injury.
