Cincinnati transfer Ramiyah Byrd is a wing that has played in 57 games over the last two seasons and has two seasons of eligibility remaining.
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Wake Forest women's basketball team and head coach Megan Gebbia announced the addition of rising redshirt junior guard/forward Ramiyah Byrd Friday, who is transferring from Cincinnati.
Byrd becomes the third player that the Demon Deacons have added for the upcoming season joining freshman signees Oshauna Holland who signed with the Deacs in November and Adora Nwude who added to the 2026 freshman class on the first day of the April signing period.
In the signing of Byrd, Wake Forest is getting a veteran and versatile wing that can play multiple positions, providing a strong rebounding presence, feel on the offensive end as well as length on the defensive end of the floor.
Over the course of her career, Byrd has played in 57 games, leading the Bearcats in rebounding on six different occasions this season. In her first career start, she posted her second career double-double with career highs in points (14) and rebounds (15) vs. Arizona. She was just the third Bearcat since 1999 to record 14 points, 15 rebounds, two assists and two steals in a game.

"From the moment I stepped on campus, I felt like the coaching staff truly believed in me, and that stood out the most. The energy from the team and how they welcomed me with open arms made it feel like I was already a part of something special. Choosing Wake Forest felt right because it's a place where I know I'll be supported, challenged and pushed to be my best." - Ramiyah Byrd
From Coach Gebbia
"Ramiyah has great energy both on and off the court. Her game experience and feel, playing at the Power-4 level will help us from the jump. She plays with an intensity and drive that allows her to make game winning plays and I love her effort on the glass. Her versatility on the defensive end will allow her to guard multiple positions. Ramiyah's athleticism will help jump start our transition game and allow us to attack early on offense. She made such a great impression with everyone on her visit and we are all very excited to get her here this summer."
