Wake Forest's John Hendricks (Kernersville, NC) was named Atlantic Coast Conference Pitcher of the Week after picking up two wins and a save in leading the Deacons to a 4-0 record last week. The left-handed junior retired 26 consecutive batters over a three game period. In 11.2 innings of work, he did not allow a run, gave up only one hit, struck out 12, and walked one batter. His save and one of his two wins were against then 11th ranked Duke as the Deacons took both games from the Blue Devils over the weekend.
Wake Forest is 13-3 overall and 2-0 in the ACC. The Deacons cracked the Collegiate Baseball top-25 poll this week and are ranked 20th. Wake will host Richmond in a game tomorrow at 1 p.m. at Hooks Stadium.
